Main differences from Handbook version 2.0 to Handbook version 3

The purpose of this section is to highlight what are the main differences from the ENplus® Handbook 2.0 to the ENplus® handbook version 3.

The main changes to the handbook are presented below:

  • New certification seals have been taken into use

  • In addition to the international Master Handbook, there are also national handbooks in countries with national licensers which are in local languages and adapted to local market conditions.
  • The handbook is divided into parts
  • The term for bagged pellets has been updated
    • The weight range has been changed to 0 – 30kg
    • Big bags (30kg+) are defined more clearly to sealed and unsealed. Unsealed bags are considered as bulk pellets and sealed bags as bagged pellets.
  • The quality requirements have become slightly stricter

  • Traders without physical contact to the bulk pellets themselves or through services providers (e.g. brokers or traders dealing only with bagged pellets) have now the possibility to become ENplus® certified on a voluntary basis. They will have to undergo an annual remote audit.
  • A new trader category has been created for traders carrying out full load deliveries (≥ 20 metric tonnes) to end-users. The requirements of those traders are less strict than for those doing part load deliveries.
  • New definitions and terms have been added as well as the procedures have been made clear in the new handbook
  • The service providers’ category has been created: companies that are contracted (by more than one company) for bagging or for part load delivery to end-users have to be certified. The other service providers can be certified on a voluntary basis. The certified service provider will be granted with a service sign.
